In conclusion...

My journey in the search of truth and Truth himself has led me to read, research, ask questions and ponder. The more I seek, the more I find, about God about love, about life…because at the end of the day when a man lies on his death bed, these are the things that really count. I have come to find out, however, that there is a simplicity to following God.

Yes, following God is truly simple, not really easy – but then, like the samurai sword saint (Miyamoto Musashi) said “Everything is hard at first”. Your first steps or first time driving was a struggle, but time passes: You soon learn to walk, to swim, to drive, to speak – and even to fly – without giving it much thought. What was learnt becomes second nature and ‘true skill now comes without effort’.

So it is in the pursuit of God.

I have heard people blame pastors and clergy for the decadence that is now part of organised Christianity and the rot that was predicted by scripture. It says that before the coming of Christ, there MUST first be a falling away. (2 Thessalonians 2:3) Good will become ‘evil’ and evil will be everywhere.

Aristotle thought and wrote about what the fate would be of a man who was perfect and sinless among people of the earth. His answer was that such a man would be hated – and would be killed, because his goodness would expose the evil nature that all men have and the bankruptcy in their souls

Years after Aristotle died, a Jewish man walked the earth – and he was perfect and sinless.
What was his fate?

They beat him. They spat on him. They scourged him some more. His friend betrayed him. His disciples ran away from him. They crucified him on a cross. They stabbed him on his side with a spear. They took his clothes and shared it among themselves – and he is still hated today for no reason.

Even the majority of those who say they follow him deny him by their lifestyle.

The conclusion of the matter and what would be the saving grace of any who will be known as a friend of God is the age-long verse that was quoted as the greatest of the commandments.

“But thou shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and might”…basically, with all of the emotional part of your being.

When people take a stand for what they believe despite opposition, before persecution they have made that cause their passion. Even the threat of death doesn’t make it wilt. So it is with following God.

So many say they love and follow God, but if for a little porridge you call daily bread, you so willingly give a bribe, tell a lie, spread your legs, put down another man down – while claiming to Love God, you lie.

The coming darkness will force all men to take a stand.

What will yours be?

  1. Amazing post!!!!!!!! So true and so moving. If only people could look past their perverse perceptions of Christianity and see the purity of Christ.
